Edewecht, we´re coming (english below)
Moin Freunde des Pullingsports! Bis vor ein paar Tagen hätte ich noch gesagt das Edewecht für uns ausfallen muss. Naja, man muss auch einfach mal Glück haben. Der ein oder andere ahnt es schon….unser Transportfahrzeug war immer noch nicht fertig. Keine Zulassung…alles etwas sehr schwierig im „Besten Deutschland aller Zeiten“. Aber dann dann vorgestern(!) der erlösende Anruf. Der Minisattel ist angemeldet. Die Odyssee die wir mit dem Teil hinter uns haben reicht für eine mehrteilige Beitragsserie…ehrlich. Naja, egal.
Auch wenn ich es normalerweise nicht tue, springen wir mal ein wenig in der Zeit und verlassen die stringente Chronologie. 😉 😉

Moin friends of pulling sports! Until a few days ago I would have said that Edewecht had to be canceled for us. Well, sometimes you just have to be lucky. One or the other already suspects it…. our transport vehicle was still not ready. No approval…all a bit difficult in „the best Germany of all time“. But then the day before yesterday(!) the redeeming call. The mini saddle is registered. The odyssey that we have behind us with the part is enough for a multi-part series of contributions…honestly. Well no matter.
Although I don’t usually do it, let’s jump back in time a bit and break the strict chronology. 😉 😉
Da steht er! Zugelassen und wir bekommen sogar den Trecker drauf gezogen! Geil!

Alex passt noch ein paar Kleinigkeiten an die stören. Das sind aber alles Nichtigkeiten.
So, jetzt gehen wir aber flink wieder ein wenig in der Zeit zurück. Wir haben ja noch einige Sachen gemacht.

Wir waren zuletzt bei der robusteren Vorderradaufhängung stehen geblieben. Dazu gehören auch diese Lenkhebel. Nur warum müssen sie noch mal auf die Fräse?
In the end we stopped at the more robust front wheel suspension. This also includes these steering levers. But why do they have to go to the milling machine again?
Der Stummel vom Kugelkopf ist kegelig. So einfach ist das.
The stub of the ball head is conical. As simple as that.
Also muss auch das Loch kegelig gefräst werden.
So the hole must also be milled conically.
Die alten Radnaben. Irgendein Scherzkeks hat die Distanzscheiben aus massivem Stahl gemacht. Da verknackst man sich ja den Rücken dran.

Das ist eine fertige Radnabe aus dem Anhängerbau. Schimpft sich „Laufstummel“
This is a finished wheel hub from trailer construction. Calls himself „Laufstummel“ in german.
Fix alles demontiert und in das Lenkgelenk gesteckt. Passt.
Fix everything dismantled and put in the steering joint. Fits.
Zur großen Freude hat eine Passprobe ergeben, dass wir auch ohne zusätzliche Distanzscheiben mehr als genug Freigang zum Tank haben.
To our great delight, a fitting test showed that we had more than enough clearance to the tank even without additional spacers.
Damit konnte dann auch alles verschweißt werden. Erst die Wurzel und dann noch mal richtig mit Dampf.
Then everything could be welded together. First the root and then again with more power.
Leider passen die gekauften Lenkhebel nicht ganz mit unserem Lenkzylinder, respektive dem Lenkgestänge zusammen. Also mussten wir da auch noch mal ran.
Unfortunately, the purchased steering levers do not quite fit with our steering cylinder or the steering linkage. So we had to go there again.
Auffüllen durch WIG-Schweißen. Nicht schön, aber sehr selten 😉 😉

Unter Anwendung ausgefallenster Winkelberechnungen hat sich der Winkel zum Guten geändert 😉

Am Reverser haben wir noch eine kleine Änderung vorgenommen. Das Schaltgestänge verriegelt jetzt nicht mehr in einer Nut, sondern in einer Buchse. Wenn da wieder mal die Muffe rausfliegen will muss sie schon mehr kaputt machen 😉 😉
We made a small change to the lapel. The shift linkage now no longer locks in a groove but in a bush. If the sleeve wants to fly out again, you’ll have to break it more 😉 😉

Ihr erinnert euch an Füchtorf 2022? Der Schutz der Antriebswelle war uns dort gebrochen. Nach der Schweißaktion beim Green Monster Team wurde uns von so vielen Leuten eindringlich nahegelegt die Verbindung nicht starr zu machen das uns eigentlich gar nichts anderes übrig geblieben ist als zu ändern.
Do you remember Füchtorf 2022? The drive shaft protection was broken there. After the welding action at the Green Monster Team, so many people urged us not to make the connection rigid that we actually had no choice but to change it.
Also wieder mal einen Klotz Alu auf die Fräse gespannt…
So once again clamped a block of aluminum on the milling machine…

…der neue drauf. Das Wellenschutzrohr wird jetzt von 4 M8 Schraubenköpfen gehalten die in ihren 15mm Bohrungen noch reichlich Spiel haben. So ist gewährleistet, dass das Wellenschutzrohr nicht raus kann, aber alles flexibel ist.

Die beiden obligatorischen Fanggurte bleiben natürlich auch dran.
Of course, the two obligatory safety belts remain attached.
So, was könnte man noch verbessern? In Füchtorf haben wir ja ständig im Drehzahlbegrenzer gehangen, sprich die Leistung die wir hatten ist nicht in die Erde gegangen. Eine kurze Rücksprache mit dem Pullingteam Kaiser (Best Solution, Super Stock) hat zu der Entscheidung geführt die uralten Reifen noch mal ein wenig zu schleifen. Kaisers haben bis zuletzt die „ollen Firestone 23° 8 Ply“ auf ihrem Trecker gefahren und die Aussage war ganz klar das auch bei dieser alten Reifenkonstruktion eine erhebliche Verbesserung mit scharfen Stollen und rauhen Flächen zu erwarten sei.
So what could be improved? In Füchtorf we were constantly stuck in the rev limiter, meaning the power we had didn’t go to the ground. A brief consultation with the Kaiser pulling team (Best Solution, Super Stock) led to the decision to grind the ancient tires a little again. The Kaisers drove the „old Firestone 23° 8 Ply“ on their tractor until the end and the statement was very clear that a significant improvement with sharp lugs and rough surfaces could also be expected with this old tire construction.
Zwar sind die Reifen runter bis aufs Leinen, aber da musste man dann auch nicht schleifen da rauh genug 😉 Keine Ahnung ob das bei unserem Setup überhaupt groß was bringt. Der Glaube kann Berge versetzen.

Einen guten Glauben an einen positiven Effekt braucht man auch um die 3 Stunden bei sommerlicher Hitze in Gummistaub und Rauch zu stehen. *grml*

Jetzt verlassen wir den Beitrag auch langsam wieder. Nach all dem Gummigestinke musste mal wieder was richtiges gemacht werden. Wofür es ist sage ich nicht. Wirklich aufmerksame Langzeitfans könnten drauf kommen.

Die Zerspanung von Kunststoffformenstahl mit über 1000 N/mm² ist zwar etwas „speziell“ am Ende hab ich dann doch gewonnen.
So, das war jetzt der definitiv letzte Beitrag vor Edewecht. Ich kann es immer noch nicht glauben das wir dort (hin) fahren können. Also mit eigenem Transportfahrzeug. Mal sehen, noch stehen wir nicht auf dem Acker 😉 😉
Wir werden mal schauen ob wir dazu kommen ein Video von der Veranstaltung zu drehen. Hängt auch immer davon ab wann wir genau starten und wie gut wir unser Geraffel startbereit bekommen. Schauen wir einfach mal.

The machining of plastic mold steel with over 1000 N/mm² is a bit „special“ but in the end I won.
So, that was definitely the last post before Edewecht. I still can’t believe we can go there. So with your own transport vehicle. Let’s see, we’re not on the track yet 😉 😉
We’ll see if we can shoot a video of the event. It also always depends on when we start exactly and how well we get our stuff ready to go. Let’s just see.
