Anstatt uns ein wenig auszuruhen passiert im Grunde genau das Gegenteil. Wie legen los als wenn in einer Woche das nächste Event wäre 😉

Trotzdem war noch genügend Zeit mal wieder richtig Ordnung zu schaffen und ein kleines (eventuell zu kleines) Regal für Pokale zu bauen 😉 😉

Simons Aufräumwut war direkt ansteckend. So hab ich mir die Kiste mit der alten Achse vorgenommen die uns zugeflogen ist. Na, wer von den alten Hasen im Pulling erkennt sie?
Simon’s enthusiasm for cleaning up was immediately contagious. So I took the box with the old axle that came to us. Well, who among the old hands in pulling recognizes it?
Es ist eine ganz alte Achse aus dem Hot Head Minipuller. Das muss man sich mal vorstellen, früher hat man die mit Magirus Deutz Achsen gefahren 😉 😉

Der Reverser ist auch raus. Ich glaube die Zahnräder für den Rückwärtsgang sollte ich mal aus besserem Material machen. Das ist schon verdächtig laut 😉
The reverser is also out. I think I should make the gears for the reverse gear out of better material. That’s suspiciously loud 😉
Die Muffe hat es dann auch endlich geschafft. 😉

Auch die ist mittlerweile schon neu gefertigt und wartet nur noch auf ihre Wärmebhandlung.

Kaum war der große Trecker soweit demontiert…hat sich Simon auch schon den kleinen vorgenommen 😉 Auch hier ist die Kupplung zur Abnahme raus gebaut. Ganz schlüssig bin ich mir noch nicht ob wir schon ein schnelleres Differential einbauen sollen. Damit würde sich die Übersetzung von 3,7 auf 3,4 ändern. Ich muss noch mal in mich gehen 😉
As soon as the big tractor was dismantled…Simon has already taken on the small one 😉 Here, too, the clutch has been removed for inspection. I’m not entirely sure yet whether we should install a faster differential. This would change the gear ratio from 3,7 to 3,4. I have to think about myself again 😉
Ganz anderes Thema. Die beinahe Katastrophe mit dem abgerissenen Krümmer in Schlechtenwegen hat mich veranlasst eine Lösung zum Schweißen „im Feld“ zu suchen. Das wir in Schlechtenwegen keine hundert Meter eine Firma mit einem Schweißgerät hatten war ein sehr glücklicher Zufall der auf anderen Veranstaltungen wohl nicht immer gegeben ist. Da die Maschinen von Parkside (Lidl) einen ganz guten Ruf haben, hab ich uns direkt ein MIG/MAG Gerät gekauft.
Completely different topic. The near catastrophe with the torn off manifold in Schlechtenwegen prompted me to look for a solution for welding “in the field”. The fact that we had a company with a welding machine less than a hundred meters away in Schlechtenwegen was a very lucky coincidence that is probably not always the case at other events. Since the machines from Parkside (Lidl) have a very good reputation, I bought us a MIG/MAG device straight away.
Und was soll ich sagen? Die obige Einstellung packt der Honda Stromerzeuger noch so gerade eben. Mit 0,8mm Fülldraht lassen sich erstaunlich gute Nähte ziehen. Wohlgemerkt alles ohne Schutzgas.
And what should I say? The Honda power generator just about manages the above setting. Surprisingly good welds can be made with 0.8mm flux cored wire. Mind you, everything without protective gas.
Mit mehreren Lagen lassen sich auch dickere Bauteile stabil verschweißen. Nochmal, wir reden hier von einem Schweißgerät das um die 500 Euro kostet und an einem eigentlich viel zu kleinen Aggregat hängt.
With several layers, even thicker components can be welded stably. Again, we are talking about a welding machine that costs around 500 euros and works with an generator that is actually far too small.
Von den Ergebnissen beflügelt ging es dann an die nächste Schwierigkeitsstufe: Alu schweißen. Das obige Bild verrät das da was nicht stimmt 😉 😉
Inspired by the results, we then moved on to the next level of difficulty: welding aluminum. The picture above reveals that something is wrong 😉 😉

Abgesehen von den Spritzern würde ich sagen das das für 6mm Material schon eine ganz geile Naht ist. Nur leider hat der Stromerzeuger auf diese Nummer überhaupt keine Lust 😉 Der reagiert immer mit Lastabwurf. Ein akustisches Spektakel 😉
Apart from the splashes, I would say that this is a pretty cool seam for 6mm material. Unfortunately, the power generator has no interest in this number at all 😉 It always reacts by shedding load. An acoustic spectacle 😉
Das ist die Einstellung die auch am Generator funktioniert. Auf dem Bild sieht die Naht schlechter aus als sie tatsächlich ist. Mit etwas mehr Vorbereitung bekommt man zumindest provisorisch aber haltbar Aluminiumteile verschweißt. Fairerweise muss man aber auch dabei sagen das man auf den meisten Veranstaltungen eine hinreichend gute Stromversorgung hat und man dann auch mit mehr Leistung schweißen kann.
This is the setting that also works on the generator. In the picture the seam looks worse than it actually is. With a little more preparation you can at least get temporary but durable aluminum parts welded. To be fair, you have to say that at most events you have a sufficiently good power supply and you can then weld with more power.
Nächster Test: MAG Schweißen mit Edelstahldraht. Komischerweise wollte das am Stromerzeuger gar nicht funktionieren. Mit Netzanschluss bekommt man aber gute Verbindungen hin. Alles in Allem bin ich sehr zufrieden.
Next test: MAG welding with stainless steel wire. Strangely enough, it didn’t work at all on the power generator. But with a mains connection you can get good welds. All in all I am very satisfied.
Themenwechsel: Es geht an die ersten Teile für den neuen Motor. Insgesamt müssen hunderte unterschiedliche Teile gefertigt werden. Fangen wir mal ganz harmlos mit den Zündkerzenschächten an.
Change of subject: It’s time to get the first parts for the new engine. In total, hundreds of different parts have to be manufactured. Let’s start harmlessly with the spark plug tubes.
Da ich die Frage förmlich schon hören kann warum das rechte Teil rot ist: Das ist das erste Teil bei dem beim Einrichten der Maschine noch nicht alles passte. Das ist später zwar nicht mehr zu verwenden, aber für die Einrichtung der nächsten Bearbeitungsschritte reicht es allemal aus 😉
Since I can practically hear the question why the right part is red: This is the first part where everything didn’t fit when setting up the machine. This can no longer be used later, but it is sufficient for setting up the next processing steps 😉

To prevent the towels from blowing away, they were probably weighed down with pieces of steel… Looks strange.
Irre, da bestellt man in Dänemark ein paar Handtücher und bekommt quasi zufällig dazu die Nockenwellen vom Slaedehunden. 😉
Crazy, in Denmark you order a few towels and, almost by chance, you get the camshafts from Slaedehunden. 😉
So, jetzt sind wir aber am Ende angekommen. Die Ölwanne von unserem neuen Motor. Wahrscheinlich gehen wir von der Trockensumpfschmierung weg und erweitern die Ölwanne um einen Nasssumpf. In dem Sinne: Bleibt dran!
So now we’ve reached the end. The oil pan from our new engine. We’ll probably move away from dry sump lubrication and add a wet sump to the oil pan. In that sense: stay tuned!
