It´running again! (english below)

Frohe Ostern zusammen!

Happy Easter everyone! In exactly one week, Füchtorf will be almost over again. That also means that we don’t even have a week to finish.

The plan is that on Saturday morning/noon we will start with the small tractor in the 600 kg modified class. The big one is supposed to have its premiere later in the Limited Modified class. If everything is fine afterwards *cough* we would like to start in the light modified class on Sunday. At least that’s the plan
😉 😉

The tank needs to be cleaned first. It’s probably still full of shavings and needs a new drain cock. Oh yeah, since we don’t know exactly how well the engine oil is vented, we added a return connection as a reserve. Not that we’re pumping foamy oil pretty deep into the tank above the intake manifold. Foamy oil lubricates only so really well.

Of course, the larger drain valve will not fit on the bracket.

Erledigt 😉

Done 😉

The filter is clean. Currently, the return flow is routed fairly deep into the tank. Should we have problems with foamy oil, we will use the top connector.

The degree wheel has received additional engravings. With this we can now flash ignition of every single cylinder.

Wieder an Ort und Stelle.

Back in place.

It also continues at the other end of the engine. The clutch and clutch guard must be on.

It’s about time this extremely heavy thing was replaced by a more contemporary design. We’re already working on it 😉 😉

The fuel filter looks absolutely clean and can be installed again. The hydraulic filter used does not appear to have a problem with methanol.

Damit kann die Spritpumpe auch wieder dran.

This allows the fuel pump to be reconnected.

Es wird langsam immer kompletter. Fehlen noch….

It’s getting more and more complete. Still missing….

…die Ventildeckel.

…the valve covers.

Sealing with foam rubber strips is better than sealant, but it’s still not really cool. Maybe we’ll make the flange plate thicker at some point and add an O-ring cord.

Einfach schön 😉

Simply nice 😉

Ganz andere Baustelle.

Completely different construction site. The throttle flaps, or the idle speed setting, don’t satisfy me at all. In the last test runs, we always had well over 1,000 rpm idling. That’s way too high. The setting with this M5 screw imitation is… how do I put it politely… just crap.

For the first time, the stops were adjusted so that the flap is in the most absolutely closed position. Secure everything nicely with sealing wax.

And now let’s take care of the adjustment screw.

So macht man das!

That’s how you do it!

Noch ein wenig schön machen….

Make it a little nicer…

…und anbauen.

….and mount it.

Die Motorsteuerung wird auch wieder kompletter.

The motor control is also more complete again.

TATATATATAAAAA! Die Steuerung spricht mit mir! Sehr geil!

TATATATATAAAAA! The engine control is talking to me! Very cool!

Und mit dem PC spricht sie auch 😉

And it´s also talking to the computer 😉

I almost forgot: The towing eye is on again.

Leute! Er ist fertig! Also für einen Testlauf. Die Spannung steigt ins unermessliche!

People! It’s done! So for a test run. The tension rises immeasurably!

Mal kurz zusammen gefasst.

Is that awesome? Is that awesome?

Please forgive me that we didn’t make a „real“ video. Getting the tractor running was just that little bit more important.
😉

Briefly summarized. After a few adjustments to the ignition angles, the engine started with absolutely no problems. The ignition was then set precisely. My ideas of getting the idle speed down using the new adjustment screw and playing around with the software also seem to have worked. We are now at a stable 500-600 rpm. We no longer need a shaft brake. The shaft between the clutch and reverser no longer rotates. Awesome, saved work again.

We still had some problems with two oil leaks, but nothing serious. The test runs were always very short, there was always plenty of oil pressure and apart from a few tiny chips we didn’t find anything in the oil return filter. That’s good ;
)

„It doesn’t lose oil, it marks it´s territory“
But the best thing is: The oil is no longer pitch black!

Natürlich wurde alles ordnungsgemäß gebunden und entsorgt! Liebe Grüne, ihr könnt wieder runter kommen! 😉

Of course, everything was properly tied and disposed of! Dear Greens, you can come down again! 😉

Alex immediately takes care of the oil leaks. Even if it was the plan: We just can’t do without sealant 😉

A nice practice part for our trainee: The restrictors so that we can start in the Limited Modified Class.

Time to take care of semi-important things: The reservoirs for the brakes (you know, those plastic crap things that keep breaking) need to be redone…..

In diesem Sinne: Bleibt dran!

….made of the finest stainless steel, of course. This means that the brake cylinders have increased their value tenfold 😉 😉

With that I let you go into this beautiful Easter Sunday. We still have a list of things that still need to be done before Füchtorf. Anyone who has looked closely will have noticed that there are still no turbochargers on the tractor. But that should all be doable. With this in mind: Stay tuned!
